Note to Self

Inspired by the Macklemore song lyrics from “Ten Thousand Hours.”
From blank wall in my studio to a 5ft x 5ft daily reminder that my work is important. Even if it’s pretty, even if it’s silly, even if it’s fun, even if my dad still thinks I “draw pictures” for a living, it’s important. Having a passion and a purpose is the compass guiding me in this work. As long as I follow the magic of that, I always seem to find myself on the right path.
This mural was done completely freehand, so if you look closely it’s got all the quirks and imperfections that prove this art was made by a human – a human trying to achieve her ten thousand hours to mastery of mural painting.
I’ve also made this design into sticker format, so I can have this handy (pun intended) reminder on the go.
